2010 Hornsby Art Prize

The Hornsby Art Prize has an awards pool of $15,000. The first prize of this award is for $6,590.

Entry fee is $15, and entries close Friday, 5 November.

Paddington Art Prize 2010

A $20,000 acquisitive prize for a painting inspired by the Australian Landscape, with additional non-acquisitve prizes from the UNSW College of Fine Arts, Menzies Art Brands and International Art Services.

Entries due Wednesday 1 September.

Arthur Guy Memorial Painting Prize

This is an acquisitive award of $50,000.

Entries close 4pm, Friday 12 November 2010.

Eutick Memorial Still Life Award

The Coffs Harbour Regional Gallery invites entries for the Eutick Memorial Still Life Award. First prize $15,000.

Entries to be submitted by August 27.

The City of Albany Art Prize

The City of Albany Art prize is an annual acquisitive award of $25,000 for a two-dimensional painting. At the judge's discretion, two non-acquisitive prizes of $1,000 may also be awarded. Open to all Australian artists, the recipient of the main award also receives four weeks in a self-contained studio cottage at the Vancouver Arts Centre, Albany.

Call for entries will commence in August, 2010.

Dobell Prize for Drawing

Sponsored by the Sir William Dobell Art Foundation, this prize encourages excellence in drawing and draftsmanship for a work on paper or other surface in pencil, pen, ink, charcoal, pastel, watercolour, collage etc. Works to be completed within 12 months prior to the submission date.

The $25,000 award is acquisitive.

Due date to be announced (in 2009, entries were due in October).

Yering Station Sculpture Exhibition and Awards 2010

The Yering Station Sculture Awards are open to all artists and encompasses both outdoor and indoor sculptures with scope for installations and site specific works. There are three prizes on offer, the Yering Station Sculpture Award (worth $12,000), the Highly Commended Award (worth $2,500) and the People’s Choice Award (worth $1,200). Sculptors can submit up to two entries and there is a $35 entry fee per entry. All entries must be original and available for sale.

Metro Art Award 2010

The Metro Art Award is open to Australian artists who are no more than 35 years of age. The genre and medium (oil, acrylic, water colour or mixed media) are up to you, but you can only enter one piece. There are two prizes, the Judges' Choice Prize (worth $40,000, acquisitive) and the People's Choice Prize (worth $10,000, acquisitive). Entry is free, so what are you waiting for?

Works on Paper 2010

The Brunswick Street Gallery Works on Paper awards are open to all artists. There is $10,000 in prizes to be won, 1st Prize (worth $5000, acquisitive), 2nd Prize (exhibition at BSG), four further acquisitive prizes to the value of the works (budget up to $4000) and five merit awards. Artists may enter up to four works, with entry fees as follows: one work $25, two works $40, three works $50, four works $60. Works can be any size and do not need to be framed.
