Gamblin Oil Colours

We are gamblin' about for joy because of our new range of artist's oil colours from the well-renowned American brand Gamblin. Made with pure pigments and the finest refined linseed oil, Gamblin Artist's Oil Colours have a unique tinting strength, transparency and texture. The colours have been selected, developed and grouped according to their pigment history, providing a range that caters for both traditional and contemporary palettes.

Most importantly, Gamblin's emphasis is on producing a range of mediums with no or very low toxicity. Rather than using natural resins such as damar crystals, which must be dissolved using highly toxic solvents (including turpentine), Gamblin has developed a range of mediums unique to the brand based on alkyd resins.

These "Galkyd" synthetic resins are low-toxic, completely odorless, and can be dissolved with pure 100% odorless mineral spirits, allowing for the thinning, glazing, thickening and manipulability of the paint, whilst maintaining surface flexibility and preventing yellowing and cracking.

ATTENTION ALL YE WATERCOLOR ARTISTS AND PRINTMAKERS

We have two new ranges of watercolor paper from Saunders: Bockingford and Waterford.

Bockingford is a pH-neutral and internally sized paper made from cellulose fibres.

Waterford is a high-quality paper made from 100% cotton rag. Both internally and externally sized, this fine paper allows for a forgiving surface that can withstand lifting and scrubbing. Waterford is excellent not only for watercolor painting, but also for silkscreen, intaglio, and hand lithography.
